NWLC Patient Self-Care Class
Classes are usually held every 3 months

A $100 tax-deductible donation is suggested, but not a requirement for taking the class.
Patients are encouraged to bring their spouse, a friend, or anyone interested in helping them.
Beverages and a light lunch are provided. Arm patients may want to bring tank tops, leg patients shorts or cut offs for learning self-massage techniques. All exercises are done in either standing or sitting position. Space is limited. Call (206) 575-7775 to register.

- 11:00 am Demonstration of Self-Manual Lymphatic Drainage
- 11:30 am Exercise and its affect on lymphatic clearing
- 12:00 pm LUNCH BREAK
- 12:30 pm Nutritional foundations for successful management
- 1:30 pm Prevention, Infections, and Personal Goals
- 1:45 pm Review of individual's self-massage (MLD) techniques
- 2:00 pm Principles of Gradient Compression
- 2:30 pm Demonstration of Self-Bandaging and discussion of alternatives
- 3:00 pm Review of presentation and Questions
- 4:00 pm End of Class
